Happy International Week of Macaque! 🐒

This wild long-tailed macaque found the perfect nap spot high up in the trees—exactly where they belong.

Sadly, many macaques in Indonesia are taken from the wild, often as babies torn from their mothers, to be kept as pets or used in cruel street performances.

Wildlife belongs in the wild. Watching macaques in their natural habitat is not only more meaningful—it also helps us adding reasons (like we don't have enough 😌) to protect ecosystems and reduces the risk of zoonotic diseases.

Let’s raise the value of seeing them free, not caged.

Of the three Leptophrynes found in West Java, it seems that Javanica is the most elusive.

That night, thanks to incredible skill, we were able to spot this beautiful yellowish Leptophryne Javanica. Although he didn’t find as many as he did eight years ago, the babies and tadpoles we observed were enough to reassure us that their habitat is still safe 💚
