UPDATES: IDE’s own event in support of the Global Handwashing Day was held @ Carrefour Lebak Bulus. Students from IDE schools performed in a short play illustrating and reinforcing the message of the importance of washing hands and personal hygiene. Over 150 students attended this fun event along with parents, Duta IDE and representatives from Carrefour & Dettol management.

ICMG-IDE (Innovation in Education) together with its official partner DETTOL recently participated in the Global Handwashing Day event held on October 15th, 2011 in Jakarta.

The purpose of the event was to create awareness among children on hygiene, particularly “the importance of washing hands using soap”. Held at Parkir Timur Senayan/Gelora B**g Karno, it successfully drew in 3,100 students; among them 2 IDE schools with a total of 100 students.

The event was actively attended by the government with representation from the Ministry of Health, the Cabinet Wives Association and also an appointed official from MURI (Indonesian Record-Breaking Museum) in recognition of the Global Handwashing day being the biggest event of its kind.
