Youth Desk - Indonesian National Commission for Unesco Follow on TWITTER : - Visit our website: http://www.unescoyouthdesk.org Youth has always been major focus in UNESCO’s programmes.

UNESCO was the first UN System agency to define and develop specific programmes for youth. UNESCO acknowledges the fact that young people are assets and part of development process, therefore they not only need to be heard but they need to be an integral part of the development process. They should participate actively in the process of critical thinking and empirical research in order to find sol

utions to these unprecedented challenges. Recognizing the importance of youth participation in national development , Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO since 2006 has involved youth in its activities, later in 2008 it became Youth Empowerment Team. Starting 2010 , however, Youth Desk was established and launched officially and its organization was placed under the National Commission for UNESCO. The establishment of Youth Desk will be mutually beneficial for youth community/youth groups and the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO.On the one side the workload of the Indonesian National Commission for UNESCO can be partly executed by Youth and on the other side, Youth could share their ideas, talents energies to be contributed through the National Commission.
