Our recent journey through Halmahera aboard Ambai brought us into some remarkable underwater encounters, with Nigel Marsh () there to capture them from his own perspective.

With a career spanning more than four decades, Nigel is an accomplished Australian underwater photographer and photojournalist.

His work has appeared in publications around the world and earned recognition in numerous photography competitions, taking him to dive destinations across Australia, Asia, the Pacific and beyond.

From the open blue to the details of the reef, Halmahera gave him plenty to explore.
