Flores is not only famous for its natural beauty, it is also famous for its woven cloth/fabric or kain tenun ikat. These fabrics have unique motives, are rich in colors, and vary from one another. They also hold stories and meanings in them. It can be said that the process of creating the motives on these woven fabrics is very difficult and requires high creativity from the maker.

Besides looking gorgeous, every motif in this woven fabric holds different meaning and is commonly used according to social status of their society. The woven cloth for men is usually made simpler than the woven cloth for women.

The patterns and color preferences between regions in Flores also have their own peculiarities which add to the rich diversity of the woven fabrics. Each region in Flores inherits its own woven motif that cannot be found on woven fabrics from other regions.

Pulau Kelor is one of the most favorite destinations for tourists visiting Labuan Bajo.
From a distance, the green hill appear perfectly with their almost precise shape. The foothills are overgrown with trees that look shady. While, the top of the hill is not overgrown with large trees but it does not look bare.
To get to the top of the hills, you have to walk pass across the white sandy beach. Then you have to do a short climb with fairly steep access. It will take about 30 minutes to reach the top. Do remember to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
All of that will be paid off once you have reached the top with a very beautiful view of the hills around Kelor Island. In addition to enjoying the beauty of green hills, you can also enjoy the freshness of young coconut water in the midst of this amazing nature. It will definitely become of one of the unforgettable experience for you.
So how about it? One for the bucket list?

Labuan Bajo is more than just a transit place to visit Komodo National Park. The city has its own great places to visit. We have created a list of places for you to go when you visit Labuan Bajo.

1. Rangko Cave - An ocean cavern with rock formations, sunlit in the afternoon, popular for swimming & diving.
2. Cunca Wulang Waterfall - this limestone waterfall and canyon is a delightful spot to spend a few hours or take a picnic and stay the entire day.
3. Batu Cermin Cave - A cave in a dark stone hills of Labuan Bajo. Sunshine comes in through a hole in the tunnel and then bounces on the stone walls that again reflect small lights to other areas inside the cave like a mirror.
4. Melo Village - One of many traditional villages around Labuan Bajo. This is where you get to watch Caci Dance, a traditional war dance.

Here is another news to spark your day. For those of you who are missing the experience and joy of travelling, Travel Sparks would like to let you know that The Komodo National Park has reopen its doors to welcome domestic and expats visitors. However, only those who have lived in Indonesia since March 2020 or earlier may visit.

The local government has implemented certain quotas and strict regulations will be implemented in Komodo National Park. During your visit, you must comply with all of the CHS protocol. Komodo National Park will fully-enforce the regulation and would not tolerate any infringement performed in the park.

You are required to always bring a valid rapid/PCR test result during your visit.

Covid-19 protocols are being implemented to make sure all visitors enjoy their holidays and still feel safe.
