Kalau Citilinkers pergi ke Toraja rasanya tak lengkap jika tidak mengunjungi beragam kebudayaan yang ada di sana. Salah satunya adalah rumah adat Toraja yang bernama Tongkonan. Tongkonan merupakan rumah adat yang terbuat dari kayu uru dan pohon uru ini memang banyak tumbuh di Sulawesi.
Tongkonan kaya dengan unsur kepercayaan, tradisi kuno, peradaban serta kebanggaan masyarakat Toraja. Maka tak heran, rumah ini tak bisa dibangun sembarangan. Bagian Tongkonan yang paling terlihat mencolok adalah atapnya yang unik dan menjulang berbentuk seperti perahu. Ini menjadi pengingat orang Toraja, bahwa leluhur mereka menggunakan perahu untuk sampai di Sulawesi. Kemudian di atas rumah biasanya akan terpasang patung kepala kerbau. Ada 3 warna kerbau mulai putih, hitam dan belang atau biasa disebut bule. Di beberapa tongkonan terdapat patung tambahan berupa kepala ayam atau naga. Ini menjadi tanda bahwa si pemilik rumah adalah yang dituakan di tempat itu.
