Kawah Ijen is the only crater in Indonesia which has a natural phenomenon "blue fire". In the world, there are only two places that have the Blue Fire. In addition to Indonesia, there is also a blue fire in Iceland.
Blue fire is happening because of the heat of the crater of Ijen combined with sulfur to create the effect of blue flame on the surface. This phenomenon can only be seen before sunrise.
Trekking to the summit of Mount Ijen to see blue fire began at midnight (at 2:00 am) of Paltuding shelter with a long climb to the crater of Mount Ijen 1.5 to 2 hours trekking and so far 3,5 km.
