Once a year in Bali, the island will shut down completely in celebration of Nyepi day or silent day; where the electricity will be cut off for 24 hours, the island will be in complete blackouts, everyone will stay in door in silent. The only place in the world where even the International airport will close down for 24 hours in respect to the event.
Ogoh-Ogoh or these giant handmade statues will be paraded and burned to ward off the evil spirits and bad luck the days leading to Nyepi. Consider yourself lucky to be able to witness this moment if you’re in Bali 🙏🏼.

Our island is not only a paradise escapade, it is a solid traditional community. May it stay that way 🩵
