Stopped at a hole in the hall local joint for lunch today where 6 food dishes and 4 smoothies rang in at $9.40. Probably the best local food I've had in 3 months. NOM!

Enjoying the fresh mountain air at Landih Ashram after completing my first Vipassana; a 10 day silent meditation course. Vipassana means to see things as they truly are. Beginning at 4am, students are to meditate 10 hours daily. The free time is really just an opportunity to see just how insane you can drive yourself with your own thoughts, as writing, reading, physical activity or any type of entertainment is forbidden. We are truly a slave to our own minds, but Vipassana offers an opportunity to relief oneself from accumulated misery. It teaches one to live a life of compassion and love opposed to one of craving and aversion. Vipassana courses are offered all over the world and are funded by donations from students who have completed the full 10 day course.
