New Visa Rules in Indonesia 🚨

Planning to extend your stay? Get ready — in-person visits to Immigration are now required.

This applies to:
▫️KITAS/ITAS (temporary stay)
▫️ITK (tourist/short-term visas)

You’ll need to:
* Answer officer questions
* Submit fingerprints
* Be photographed

📄 As per Circular No. IMI-417.GR.01.01 (2025), remote extensions are no longer allowed.

Why?
To boost national security, transparency, and visa control.

✅ Don’t wait — processing might take longer now.
📍 Make sure you go to the correct Immigration Office (based on your address).

Visa Run in Bali: Is It Still a Thing in 2025? 🤔✈️

Once upon a time, doing a quick “visa run” to Singapore or Kuala Lumpur was the way to extend your stay in Bali.
But… does that trick still work in 2025?

Let’s break it down 👇

What was a visa run?
A visa run meant leaving Indonesia temporarily (often for just 1-2 days) and coming back to get a new Visa on Arrival (VoA).
Easy, cheap, and popular among long-term tourists.

So, can you still do it?
✔️ Technically — yes.
🚫 But it’s not as smooth anymore.

Here’s why:

Immigration is watching: Repeated entries every 30-60 days raise red flags.

You may get questioned: “Why are you coming back so often?” is a common ask at the border.

You can be denied entry: Especially if they suspect you're working or living without the right visa.

Better alternatives in 2025:
🧾 Tourist visa B211A – Apply before you arrive and stay for up to 180 days with extensions.
💻 Freelance KITAS – Perfect for digital nomads who want to stay long-term, legally.
🌴 Visa on Arrival + extension – For a simple 60-day stay with one easy renewal.

Final advice from our team

If you really love Bali (and who doesn’t?), plan your stay the smart way — not the risky way.
Visa runs may still exist, but Indonesia’s immigration is a lot stricter now.

This year, Bali is stepping up immigration control — and you need to be prepared. Whether you're on a visa run or living here long-term, here's what to know:

✅ Always Carry a Copy of Your Visa
Digital or printed — make sure it's accessible, especially when traveling between areas.

✅ Don’t Overstay. Not Even a Day.
Fines are expensive and could lead to a ban. Seriously, check your visa dates today.

🚫 Don’t Argue or Record Officers
Stay polite and cooperative. Even if you feel uncomfortable, don’t escalate — it never ends well.

⚠️ Avoid ‘Visa Agents’ Offering Sketchy Deals
If it sounds too cheap or too fast, it's probably not legal. Stick with verified services.

Need a reliable team to keep your visa clean and clear?
GetVisaToBali is here to help — legal, fast, and stress-free.

3 Reasons Not to Delay Your Visa Renewal Until the Last Week

We get it — life on Bali is beautiful, and paperwork isn’t your favorite. But if you’re living here on a visa, don’t wait until the last moment to renew it. Here's why:

👉Immigration Isn't Netflix – No Last-Minute Options
Appointments can be fully booked for days. If you wait too long, you may miss your window and overstay.

👉Overstay = Stress + Fines + Trouble
Just one day over can cost you 1,000,000 IDR per day, and repeated overstays can get you blacklisted. Real talk: We’ve helped people in tears at the airport. Don’t be them.

👉Unexpected Delays Happen
Internet issues, public holidays, changes in rules — Bali is magical, but not always predictable. Better to be safe than sorry.

D1 Multiple-Entry Visa – for those who keep coming back to Bali!

The D1 visa is valid for 1, 2, or 5 years and lets you stay in Indonesia for up to 60 days per visit.

✨ But here's the best part:
You can extend it twice, adding 60 days each time — so you can stay up to 180 days at once!

After that, you’ll need to leave the country, but you can come back anytime. And guess what?
Every time you enter, the 60-day clock starts again, with the same option to extend!

👉 The 5-year visa is only available if you’ve had a 1- or 2-year visa before.

And yes — it’s multiple-entry, so you can fly in and out as often as you like while it’s valid.

Imagine a day when an entire island stops. No flights, no cars, no work—just complete silence. Welcome to Nyepi, Bali’s Day of Silence, happening on March 29, 2025.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 What is Nyepi?
It’s the Balinese New Year, but instead of loud celebrations, it’s a day of reflection, meditation, and total stillness. The island shuts down—no internet, no shops, no beach trips. Even the airport closes for 24 hours.

🔹 What happens before Nyepi?
The night before, Ogoh-Ogoh parades take over the streets! Huge demon-like statues are carried around, accompanied by music and fire, symbolizing the cleansing of evil spirits before the new year.

🔹 What does this mean for tourists?
✔️ You must stay inside your hotel or villa (most provide meals and activities).
✔️ No going outside or making loud noises.
✔️ A rare chance to experience complete digital detox and pure serenity.

If you’ll be in Bali during Nyepi, embrace it! It’s a magical experience you won’t find anywhere else in the world.

Would you spend a day in total silence? Let us know in the comments! 👇
