Meet the cutest little cube in the ocean: the baby yellow boxfish! 💛🐡

With their bright colour and boxy shape, they look like cartoon characters brought to life. But don’t be fooled by the cuteness, these tiny swimmers are surprisingly tough and can release toxins when stressed!

Found in coral reefs across the Indo-Pacific, baby boxfish are about the size of a jellybean when young, making them a rare and joyful find for divers and snorkelers 🫧🌊

What Does HUPLA Mean? The Story Behind Gili Air’s Most Mysterious Word

If you’ve ever stepped off the boat onto the sandy shores of Gili Air, one word might have caught your eye — or your ear — before you even unpacked your bags: HUPLA.

It’s in bold letters as you leave the dive resort Oceans 5 Gili Air, splashed across staff T-shirts, engraved on the side of their biggest boat, and if you spend even five minutes near the dive shop, you’ll hear a cheerful, energetic voice shouting it out over and over again — “HUPLA!”

So what does it mean?

Many visitors have guessed. Some think it’s a quirky Dutch word. Others believe it might be Bahasa slang. A few even assume it’s some kind of inside joke only staff understand. But the truth is more original, and more uniquely “Gili Air,” than you might imagine.
