The Kuskus (often called Cuscus in English) is one of the most unique animals you can find in Tangkoko Nature Reserve.
It’s a tree dwelling marsupial, meaning it carries its babies in a pouch, similar to a kangaroo or koala.

In North Sulawesi, the most famous species is the Sulawesi Bear Cuscus.
Locals often call it “Kuskus Beruang” because of its fluffy fur and slow, bear like movements.
Many travelers come to Tangkoko expecting only the famous tarsier.
But spotting a wild Kuskus feels more special because they are harder to find and they blend perfectly into the jungle.
