Sungai Utik, lived by Dayak Iban Community, located in West Kalimantan, deep in the lush Bornean forests in Kapuas Hulu Regency, close to the Indonesia-Malaysia border, as part of the “Heart of Borneo,” and easily accessible from Putussibau (capital city of Kapuas Hulu) and Kuching.

Festival Rimba is an annual event as seen as an expression of gratitude to the forest that has provided a livelihood for the community. We invite you to get to know Iban culture and witness how indigenous communities preserve their ancestral natural heritage from generation to generation through rituals, talkshow, stand, tracking, planting, river cruising, art and traditional game performances.

Gawai Dayak
a traditional post-harvest festival and celebration held by the Dayak people as a way of expressing gratitude to God (Petara/Jubata/Alatala) for a bountiful harvest. Held annually, this event serves as an important occasion for preserving ancestral cultural heritage and strengthening community ties.
This celebration generally takes place in early June, a tradition that is particularly prevalent in Kalimantan (especially West Kalimantan) and Malaysia (Sarawak). The event typically takes place in the traditional Dayak house, the Rumah Betang/ Rumah Panjae (Long House).
