Did you know!.
In Japan, Christmas means a bucket of KFC!.
KFC has become a Christmas tradition in Japan. KFC's Christmas promotion was the brainchild of Takeshi Okawara, who managed the first KFC restaurant in Japan, Nagoya City. Just few months after the first KFC opened in Japan in 1970, Okawara had the idea to sell a Christmas "party barrel" but with fried chicken instead of turkey.

The promotion went national in Japan in 1974 under the name : Kurisumasu ni wa Kentakkii, which means Kentucky for Christmas. Today, KFC's Christmas meals contain more than just fried chicken. Many packages contain cake, which has been important part of Christmas in Japan before KFC. Premium barrel include options such as ribs or roast chicken with stuffing. You can even pair your party barrel with Chrismas wine🍸 that's sold at the fastfood chain.

At many Japanese Christmas parties, KFC is one part of the Christmas feast besides Strawberry Shortcake.

So if you love Japan🎌, KFCπŸ₯ and Strawberry shortcakeπŸ“, come to JapanπŸ—Ύ and spend your time at Christmas in Japan!😍😍😍 That will be an unforgettable moment.

Daruma dolls are purchased once a year usually, at the end of the year to make a wish. Paint one eye with ink and paint the other one a year later if your wish come true. Daruma san is a traditional doll color in red with round shape and have no legs nor hands. The red color of Daruma dolls also comes from the color of the clothes worn at the time that Bodhidharma did the meditation. About 80% of the production of Daruma is made in Takasaki City, Japan.

The doll embodies this popular Japanese proverb : Nana korobi yaoki "Fall down seven times, stand up eight". So no matter how tired, despite the circumstances or even lack of rewards or motivation, the Ganbaru spirit treads forward. Because clarity is truly realized and appreciated when the person who made the wish transforms into the person who completed the dream.

The red color in most Asian cultures signifying with energy and good health. The eyebrows are made to look like cranes and the mustache or cheek hair made to look like turtle or tortoise shells. Because cranes and tortoises represent longevity. 1000 year for the crane and 10.000 years for the turtle shell. That's why Daruma dolls have such determined expression. They never give up. They are built to automatically bounce back when knocked over.

The Daruma is made of washi, traditional handmade paper made only in winter❄ because cold water is essential to making a more natural paper with little to no chemicals. Each Daruma is hand painted so no two Daruma have the exact same design.

So what is your wish? Let's make it comes true in the next year! β›„β›„β›„β›„β›„.
