🔧 The Invisible Standard: Engineering for Safety

At Expedition Bali Tours, we believe the most important parts of your journey are the parts you’ll never see.

In January 2026, we invested a small fortune into a total mechanical brake and chassis overhaul of our Isuzu D-Max “Popemobile.”

While most stick to basic oil changes, we did this as well, however we went deep into the bone and marrow of the machine to prioritise the safety of our guests and our drivers.

The “Invisible” Overhaul Included:

Structural Integrity:
We identified and welded chassis cracks at Samudra Mechanics, reinforced with custom plating.

Total Front-End Rebuild:
New inner/outer bearings, brand-new front hubs, and replaced top/bottom ball joints and tie rods at Astra Isuzu.

Braking Excellence:
A full system flush with Brembo DOT 4 fluid, a new master cylinder, and a complete rear drum overhaul (new cylinders, adjusters, and cables).

Remote Sourcing:
We even sourced specialised cabin rubbers from Major Motors Isuzu in Bibra Lake, Australia, to ensure the smoothest ride possible.

Axle Readiness:
After replacing a snapped front axle, we’ve now stocked spares to ensure we are never off the road.

The only thing you will see is the new under-chassis LED lighting, installed so you can clearly see the step at 3:30 AM. Aside from that, you won’t notice a thing—however, we know.

We do this because our guide has a family to go home to, and our guests deserve the peace of mind that comes with true professional maintenance. 🚙✨

💦 The Custom Finish: Ulu Petanu Waterfall

When our group of 16 Canadians asked for “something a bit different” to wrap up their epic day, we knew exactly where to go. After the Million Dollar Point sunrise and a feast at Desa Oculus, we headed to the hidden sanctuary of Ulu Petanu Waterfall.

This wasn’t our standard waterfall tour—it was a custom-tailored moment for a group that wanted to escape the crowds. The lush greenery and the cooling spray of Ulu Petanu provided the perfect, serene contrast to the rugged volcanic beauty of the morning.

🇨🇦 O Canada! Anthem at the Million Dollar View

There are sunrises, and then there are Million Dollar View sunrises. 🥂

Today, we had the absolute honor of hosting 16 incredible guests from Canada for a morning that none of us will ever forget. The sky performed a three-act play just for them: shifting from deep mystical purples to soft pinks, before erupting into a brilliant orange sunrise.

Perched at our “Million Dollar” spot with a front-row seat to the Indian Ocean and the volcanoes, the group celebrated with a champagne breakfast. But the moment that gave us all goosebumps? As the sun cleared the horizon, the entire group stood together and sang the Canadian National Anthem. 🎶🏔️

Hearing “O Canada” echo across the caldera from our private ridge is a moment we’ve recorded for posterity—it was the ultimate “X Factor” experience.

The celebration continues right now at Desa Oculus, where they are diving into a Western-style feast and relaxing in the heated rooftop pool before we head off to find some waterfalls later this afternoon. 💦

🌅 A Morning of Fire and Gold

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a wonderful couple from Eastern Europe, sent to us by our fantastic partners at Pegasus Indonesia Travel.

They joined us for our iconic 4x4 Sunrise Sensation Private Tour, and the mountain truly put on a show for them. We were treated to a brilliant, deep orange sunrise that seemed to set the entire sky on fire over Mount Abang and Mount Agung.

💀 Mystery on the Lake: Best of Terunyan 2025

2025 was a big year for this tour! We upgraded our experience with a brand-new, custom-built twin-hull boat. Designed specifically for tourism, its wide, flat bottom offers a stable, smooth ride across the lake—a major upgrade from the traditional fishing boats of the past.

Guided by our expert, Agus, who has spent his entire life fishing and living on these waters, you’ll discover the secrets of the Bali Aga (the original Balinese). You’ll see the legendary Taru Menyan tree, which emits a fragrance so powerful it neutralises all scent of decay, allowing the deceased to rest above ground in open-air bamboo cages.
