Today, we honor the life of an extraordinary woman,
Dr. Biruté Mary Galdikas.

A pioneer, a protector, and a voice for those who could not speak.

She devoted her life to the forests of Indonesia, standing alongside orangutans and fighting tirelessly for their survival.

As the founder of Camp Leakey and Orangutan Foundation International , she created a sanctuary of hope, a place where orangutans could be protected, rehabilitated, and given a second chance at life.

Rest in peace, Dr. Galdikas!

Senaru is one of the main gateways to Mount Rinjani, known for its rainforest trails and iconic waterfalls. This highland area offers a scenic walk through dense jungle, river crossings, hanging bridges, and cool mountain air before you reach Sendang Gile and Tiu Kelep Waterfall.
