A fire tore through part of Suryakencana last week — one of the most beautiful high-altitude savannas in Java, and one of our team's favorite stretches of trail on the whole Gede Pangrango route. 🔥🌾

While rangers and volunteers raced to contain it, our own mountain crew was already up there helping — hauling water, working sprayers along the fire line, and later staying behind to watch for embers once the worst of it was over. No photo ops, no pause for the camera. Just people who know this mountain doing what needed doing.

The trails are closed for now while the park finishes checking the terrain, and we're keeping a close eye on when they'll reopen so we can pass that on to you first. Because that's the thing about being Java specialists instead of generalists: we don't just sell you the mountain, we actually show up for it.
