*Spiritual cleansing* = the process of cleansing our energy, mind, and soul of negative things that cling to us.
What is being "cleansed"?
1. *Negative energy* - accumulated stress, emotions, trauma, envy, and anger.
2. *Tiredness/mental impurity* - in Balinese Hinduism, it's called mala. This energy causes bad luck, heaviness, and restlessness.
3. *Attachments* - thoughts that cling to the past, resentment, and guilt.
4. *External influences* - negative auras from places, people, or events.

The goal is:
1. *Return to clarity* - the mind becomes calm, the heart becomes light, and it's less prone to triggers.
2. *Energy reset* - like restarting a slow phone. Fresh energy returns
3. *Reconnection* - makes it easier to "connect" with God, nature, and yourself
4. *Protection* - becomes stronger, less susceptible to negative energy

Examples in various traditions

Barong dance! 😊 The Barong dance is a traditional Balinese dance that tells the story of the eternal battle between good (Barong) and evil (Ratih or Rangda).

The story goes like this:
- Barong (a mythical lion-like creature) represents good and protects the village.
- Rangda (a witch) represents evil and tries to destroy the village.
- The dance features the battle between Barong and Rangda, with the villagers (played by dancers) joining in to help Barong defeat Rangda.
- The dance ends with Barong victorious, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil 🌟.

Teeth filing ceremony! 😊 In Bali, it's called "Metatah" or "Mapandes". It's a rite of passage ceremony where a child's teeth are filed to symbolize the removal of negative traits like anger, greed, and lust.

The filing is usually done when a child reaches puberty (around 12-16 years old). The ceremony marks their transition to adulthood and is believed to bring balance and harmony to their life 🌟.

The teeth filed are the canines, which are associated with animal-like instincts. By filing them, it's like saying "I'm leaving that behind, I'm becoming more refined" 🙏🏽. It's a big deal in Balinese culture!
