Regeneration looks and feels like this.

We have deep gratitude for the beauty and generosity of the communities who have welcomed us this year throughout Costa Rica. For the shared walks through gardens, honest conversations, and living examples of regeneration in action.

These places aren’t concepts. They’re courageous experiments in how we can strive to live more in communion with each other and the land.

We return to Costa Rica in 2027.

Halfway through our first Spain Ecovillage Tour and the days already feel full in the best way 🇪🇸🌿

In just a few days, our group has shared homemade bread, olive oil, goat cheese, and even acorn “Nutella” at Los Portales, learned about sociocracy, gift economy, and dreamwork from a community that’s been living together for over 40 years, and helped in kitchens, gardens, and shared spaces before sitting down for long communal dinners.

We’ve swum in the sea on the drive south, explored the wild landscape of El Molino de Guadalmesí, walked through gardens and natural building experiments, and joined workshops in deep ecology and connection with the land.

At Resonancia, we cooked together, danced together, explored clay-built spaces in the mountains of southern Spain, and experienced what happens when a group of strangers starts becoming a community itself.

Stay tuned as the journey continues through more regenerative communities, majestic landscapes, workshops, shared meals, and unexpected moments along the way 💚

Somewhere between the villages, rivers, shared meals, and conversations, a community formed 💚

What a journey this Portugal Ecovillage Tour has been. From the sun-drenched Alentejo region to the verdant valleys of Serra da Estrela, we were welcomed into many expressions of community, regeneration, and shared life.

From muddy hands in the soil, to river swims, village cafés, shared songs, regenerative projects, late-night laughter, and conversations that will stay with us for a long time.

Deep gratitude to every community, host, and project that welcomed us so generously. We’ll celebrating all the places, people, and projects from this journey in upcoming posts, today starting with thanks to...

Veredas da Estrela for inviting us into meaningful restoration work and conversations around regeneration and local culture.

Ananda Kalyani for sharing your spiritual practice, gardens, riverside moments, and stories of community life.

Spirala Ecovillage for sharing your growing vision rooted in permaculture and collective experimentation.

Traditional Dream Factory for expanding our understanding of governance, cooperation, and ecological systems thinking.

And to Tamera for the depth of your work around water, land, community, and culture.

Huge appreciation to our guides Mikey, Catarina, and Margarida for holding this journey with such care, humor, warmth, and heart 💚

And thank you to Eddie, our Explorer Exchange scholarship recipient, for capturing so many beautiful moments, stories, photos, and videos along the way 📸✨

Our very first Spain Ecovillage Tour is officially underway 🇪🇸🌿

This week, with 14 participants from around the world, we will travel from the rolling hills of Andalusia to wild coastlines, mountain villages, desert landscapes, hammams, and regenerative communities reimagining how we live together.

From dreamwork and sociocracy to permaculture, shared meals, and hands-on collaboration, the adventure has begun. 💚

The journey began with orientation, shared agreements, laughter over name games, learning hand signals for group communication, and conversations about what draws each of us toward community.

✨Follow our posts and stories as the journey continues to unfold!

As we get ready to begin our very first Spain Ecovillage Tour 🇪🇸🌿

We asked one of our guides, Karima:

--What draws you to community?

“The tribe spirit. Being able to share the day to day with others, Co-create healthier and more joyful lifestyles that coexist with nature, rather than exploiting it while suffering in individualist routines.”

--What’s one thing you’ve learned from the communities you’ve visited?

“Life is a cycle of birth- death- rebirth. The sooner we embrace it, we suffer less and flow more with life’s natural rhythms.”

A reflection of what this journey is really about.💚

We are so grateful to have 3 incredible guides - Fernando, Rosanna, and Karima, with incredible, deep experience in the region and in communities.

The tour begins this Thursday.

From tour → to real life 🌺

After joining our Costa Rica Ecovillage Tour, Sébastien and his family made a big decision.

They relocated from Canada to Alegría Village 🌿

Now they’re building a home, raising their children in community, and living a life that felt out of reach before the tour.

Here’s what he shared with us:

“The tour gave me a real sense that there are other ways to live — and that those ways can be healthier, richer, and far more aligned with what many of us are truly seeking...

Because of this tour, my family and I were able to make decisions much faster than we otherwise would have.

We are now excited to be building our home in a community of like-minded people, surrounded by children and people of all ages, cultures, and nationalities.

We grow food together, support one another, share experiences, learn together, and genuinely enjoy being part of a thriving community.”

Sometimes you don’t know what’s possible until you see it ❤️

Back to small town village life in the Centro region of Portugal 🌿

On Day 5 of the Portugal Ecovillage Tour at Idanha-à-Vida, we explored what ecological and social regeneration looks like in practice. Walking through the town of Idanha-a-Velha, stopping at the village café ☕, and learning how land, history, and culture are deeply connected in this place.

Conversations opened important questions about how this work can truly last:
• How do we listen to what the land needs? 🌱
• How can projects grow while staying rooted in local culture?
• What does long-term regeneration really look like here?

We spent the afternoon alongside people from the village, preparing for the annual festival.... Cleaning the community kitchen, painting walls, varnishing wooden benches. Simple work, shared with purpose.🙌

At lunch, we celebrated a participant's birthday together, singing in as many languages as we could 🎂 - A moment that brought everyone closer around the table.

The day closed at Casa Bela by the river 🌊, surrounded by flowers 🌸 Cooking and sharing a meal made from local, seasonal ingredients. A beautiful celebration of taste, place, and community.

Grateful for our time with the Beija Flor community during the April Costa Rica Ecovillage Tour 🌿

Camilo explained the urgency of preserving seeds, reminding everyone that without seeds, there is no food. He shared how the world has already lost nearly 75–90% of its genetic diversity in crops, making communities more vulnerable each year. Instead, he encouraged the use of locally adapted seeds. Around the houses, green fences will be growing as living barriers that protect and nourish the land. The community is also building a nursery, a shared space to learn, experiment, and care for seedlings together.

Ten partners set out to build something different, guided by shared values and a vision for community. Before even buying land, they built the community itself — friends, families, and dreamers saying “let’s do it.” What grew is a living experiment: an ecosystem of people, places, and relationships.

Every Friday, they gather for shared dinners. Every week, they come together again — planting, reforesting, and growing more than food.... also a way of life!

Thank you for welcoming us and sharing your wealth of experience 💚
