- ประวัติ และ ที่ตั้งทางภูมิศาสตร์ของอุซเบกิสถาน (114 ปีก่อนคริสตกาล - 1450s AD) ในช่วงสหัสวรรษแรกก่อนคริสต์ศักราช กองคาราวานเดินทางข้ามทะเลทรายหลายไมล์จากจีนไปยังตลาดสดในยุโรป พบโอเอซิสในเมืองซามาร์คันด์ บูคารา และคีวาในอุซเบกโบราณ และเปลี่ยนให้เป็นศูนย์กลางการค้าและศูนย์กลางการแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรมที่สำคัญ. ผู้ค้าไม่เพียงขนส่งวัสดุเช่นงาช้าง ผ้าไหม และทองคำเท่านั้น แต่ยังขนส่งศาสนาและปรัชญาด้วย เมื่อชาวติมูริดพิชิตอุซเบกิสถาน พวกเขาได้นำศิลปะและวัฒนธรรมอิสลามมาสู่ประเทศ ซึ่งยังคงโดดเด่นมากในปัจจุบัน อันที่จริง ทุกวันนี้ อุซเบกิสถานเต็มไปด้วยสุเหร่าที่หรูหรา หอคอยสุเหร่าระยิบระยับ และมาดราซาห์อันโอ่อ่า ซึ่งเป็นฉากที่คุณคาดว่าจะได้เห็นในบทที่มหัศจรรย์ที่สุดของ 1001 ราตรี เท่านั้น.

ในศตวรรษที่ 16 ขณะที่การค้าทางทะเลเจริญรุ่งเรือง เมืองต่างๆ บนเส้นทางสายไหมก็เริ่มลดลง อุซเบกคานาเตะเข้าสู่สงครามกับอิหร่านในไม่ช้า และในศตวรรษที่ 18 พวกเขาทั้งหมดถูกควบคุมโดย Nader Shah แห่งเปอร์เซีย จากนั้นในศตวรรษที่ 19 รัสเซียซึ่งดึงเอาศักยภาพทางการค้าของภูมิภาคนี้มาใช้ ได้เริ่มการพิชิตทางทหารอย่างเต็มรูปแบบในเอเชียกลาง
