This tiny sandbank only rises from the sea at low tide — a soft stretch of white sand floating in the middle of crystal-clear turquoise waters. No boats. No buildings. Just you, the sea, and the sky. 🌴🌞

The stunning colors of coral reefs aren’t actually from the corals themselves — they come from tiny algae living inside them! 🪸✨

These algae, called zooxanthellae, not only give corals their vibrant hues — from glowing greens to deep purples — but also provide up to 90% of their energy. 💚🌞

When corals are stressed (from warming waters or pollution), they expel these algae, causing the coral to turn white — a process called coral bleaching. 😔

Protect the reefs, and we protect the colors of our oceans. 💙
