Every day, tons of organic waste get thrown away, banana peels, leftover food, garden clippings. Most of it ends up rotting in landfills, releasing methane and adding to the climate crisis.
At Werkudara, we asked a simple question, what if waste wasn't the end of the story, but the beginning of a new one?
That question became Banana Circle, a smart, nature-based solution for organic waste management. Instead of discarding food scraps and green waste, we bury them in a circular pit surrounded by banana plants. As the waste decomposes, it feeds the soil, and the bananas grow stronger, healthier, and more abundant.
No fancy machines. No chemical fertilizers. Just a simple system inspired by nature, turning what we throw away into something we can harvest.
This is more than composting. It's a mindset shift, proof that sustainability doesn't have to be complicated to be powerful. It's a circular economy in action, one banana circle at a time.
