This is, without a doubt, my favorite tour and route to run.
Starting from the beautiful Cé Bheag pier at Kildavnet, we set out for an incredible trip exploring the coastlines of Achill and Clare Island. You don't have to travel far before you are surrounded by rugged scenery, historic landmarks, and abundant marine wildlife.
The highlights never get old: cruising past the Achill Beg lighthouse, looking up at the 200-year-old Clare Island lighthouse perched dramatically on the cliff edge, and getting up close to the native seabirds nesting along the towering cliffs of Knockmore.
It is a remarkably enjoyable trip even when the West Coast weather gets a bit wild. The route is incredibly versatile—we can adapt to the wind and swell, tuck in for shelter at Clare Island, and then comfortably ride the weather at our backs on the journey home.
