Helping out on Saturday with the . Day was foggy and did not lend itself to the usual spectacular Achill views. Big thanks to all the helpers and participants but a special mention to the who provided leaders and sweeps for the walks and kept evryone safe on the hills.

Short walk today but a fascinating one. Climbed almost 500 meters in 1.2 Km! Steep but worth it. The piece of wood marking the Wainwright was sketched by AW in his book on the Far Eastern Fells in 1957! And its still in place after all this time! Wow!

First day of the Lake District trip. The day started out sunny and warm but the changed rapidly to very cold and really strong winds at 800+ metres. Yet you still had people totally unprepared for this weather, which was forecast. Unable to do Swirrl Edge because of snow and ice at the top of the ridge and strong winds. Next time perhaps? Still, a great day out and two more Wainwrights done.
