The Leinster Fleadh kicks off in Drogheda from Friday, 11th July, to Sunday, 13th July, – and we’re ready to celebrate! The town will come alive with music, culture, community, and celebration as we welcome thousands of visitors and competitors for an unforgettable weekend of festivities ✨

🎵 Best of luck to all the competitors taking part in this year’s Fleadh – we’ll be cheering you on! In addition to the competitions, there are plenty of events for the whole family to enjoy…

🎤 Take in the spirit of the Fleadh early at the Official Opening Concert at Droichead Arts Centre on Thursday 10th July
🎶 Enjoy live music at the Gig Rig at Scotch Hall Shopping Centre, get moving at the Céilí Picnic on Duke Street, or explore local talent at the Cottage Market Fleadh Weekender
🏃‍♂️ Lace up your walking shoes for the 1200 Steps of Drogheda Tour, a fundraiser in partnership with Tidy Towns Drogheda and Boyne Valley Trails, or join the Fleadh Park Run in Oldbridge
🎼 Pop into Drogheda Library to try an instrument, practice your cúpla focail at plenty of events as gaeilge including a Pop Up Gaeltacht in Peggy Moores, and follow the lively session trail through pubs across town

This is a huge moment for Drogheda – packed with energy, music, and community pride.

Congratulations to Ardgillan Castle and the Balbriggan community for being featured as one of Ireland’s top free days out. This Wednesday, July 9th at 9PM – Live at The Warehouse: THOMAS HENDY

The Brigg Bus is proud to feature self-taught visual artist Thomas Hendy this week. Originally from Bray and now living in Kells, Thomas has an extraordinary story of transformation—emerging from a past marked by addiction, homelessness, and incarceration into a life of recovery and creative expression.

Through his art, Thomas has found a way to communicate experiences and emotions that words alone could never fully express. His talk will explore themes of love, loss, and personal evolution, delivered with powerful honesty and emotional depth.

Members of the public are warmly invited to attend and hear his inspiring story.
