PJ Duffy started off playing in the St. Muredach’s Brass Band in the late 1950′s and started playing dance bands, starting with Bobby McCaffery’s band. PJ moved to the Dominoes showband. In 1965 PJ left Ballina to join the Michael O’Cal

PJ played with the Michael O’Callaghan for 7 years where he met is wife Eithne and was married in 1969. PJ pursued a solo career from 1972-1977 in Cork before returning to Ballina to open the PJ Duffy Inn, Jazz Pub, where he is currently in residence.
