Competing against a field of 40 English, Irish and Dutch anglers, the local Ballinamore angler produced a superb finish to the week, winning the final two days of the competition to secure the festival title for the third time.

The South Leitrim West Cavan Vintage Club are delighted to announce their Annual Vintage Show & Family Day taking place on Sunday 31st May.

This year’s event promises a fantastic day out for all the family, with vintage displays, entertainment, community spirit and plenty of attractions throughout the day.

Most importantly, proceeds from this year’s event will go towards supporting two very worthy local causes: Cancer Care West and the Autism Classes at Carrigallen National School.

The club would greatly appreciate your support as they continue their tradition of bringing the community together while raising vital funds for important local services.

Ballinamore Camino 2026
Saturday 11th July 2026

After the huge success of the first Ballinamore Camino in 2025 we are endeavouring to make this year’s Camino bigger and better.

Due to popular demand we we have added a third shorter route of 16km, in addition to the longer 26.5km and 34.5km routes.

We have also listened to feedback from participants and decided to change the direction of the walk this year – a change of scene without changing the location!

We understand that you may not know which route you will walk on the day but we would appreciate a guide to help us in planning the logistics of the event, so when you are booking your timeslot please let us know your intended route and take the following into consideration:

If you intend to walk the 34.5km route please select a starting time between 7am and 8am inclusive.
If you intend to walk the 16km route please select a starting time between 8am and 9am inclusive.
You may choose any starting time for the 26.5km route.
Please note that this event is a walk, not a race. If you decide to run the route be aware that stewards may not be in place at each station yet.

Registration at the Island Theatre, Ballinamore N41 K0D6 from 6.45-9am sharp on Saturday 11th July 2026. Tail walkers will leave at 9am so registrations will close and latecomers cannot be facilitated after this time.

Ballinamore Camino will start and end at the Island Theatre, Ballinamore. Each of the three routes are looped and will include road, existing trails and tracks through uplands and forestry, including spectacular views of South Leitrim, West Cavan, Longford, Fermanagh and Tyrone. The highest point on the route is 420m.

Pol an Eas Waterfall
Sliabh an Iarainn mountain
Bencroy Viewing Point
Beautiful flora and fauna of the area
Finish at the Island Theatre with a hot meal

Registration: €60 + €2 fee. This includes a t-shirt, map, refreshments at stops along the route, a hot meal at the end of the walk at the Island Theatre, and a commemorative medal.
