A beautiful day exploring two of Connemara’s most iconic stops — Kylemore Abbey and Killary Fjord. 🇮🇪
Nestled beneath the mountains and reflected perfectly in the lake, Kylemore Abbey is one of Ireland’s most breathtaking landmarks. Originally built in the late 1800s by Mitchell Henry as a romantic castle for his wife Margaret, it later became home to Benedictine nuns and remains a place full of history, beauty, and quiet charm.
From there, we continued through the dramatic Connemara landscape to Killary Fjord, often described as Ireland’s only true fjord. Carved by glaciers thousands of years ago, it stretches between the mountains of Galway and Mayo, offering some of the most peaceful and scenic views along the Wild Atlantic Way.
Days like this are what Irish touring is all about history, scenery, fresh Atlantic air, and unforgettable moments along the way.
