We weren’t just lucky with the weather today, we were also lucky get to see some basking sharks feeding near the old whaling station off Inishkea.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of an extraordinary man.

We had the privilege of meeting Paddy Conahan a couple of times, including here in Blacksod during his incredible journey around the coast of Ireland, swimming at piers to raise funds for Gemma’s Legacy of Hope.

At 80 years of age, at the time, his determination, strength and love were nothing short of inspiring. It was a moment that has stayed with us.

He made a lasting impact, raising remarkable amounts of money for charity.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends and all who knew him.
