We are still getting out fishing here but it would be nice to get another spell of calm weather before the season ends.
Estuary fishing is fine although the waters is a bit more coloured with the swell and high tides. Outside there has been a lot of bird and dolphin activity so I would hope there is a bit of Tuna about. I hope to try for them over the next while. Still signs of Porbegals on the prowl as well. Plenty Pollack and other whitefish although mackerel are still hard to find.

The lads in this week are having to put up with more autumn type weather. We did get out the first day for a shark drift and had a lovely Porbegal to the boat. But a 15 minute tussle with a bigger fish ended with a broken line. Judging by the runs it was making it was a large Porbegal.
The last 2 days we are in the estuary and fishing is patchy. We are getting some nice fish and today we had a few Tope and a lovely Spotted Ray.

We took a spin out today for a go at the SixGills. My first time in a while so I was looking forward to it but the weather gods where not being over kind. Anyway the wind died out but the sea was still lumpy and not perfect for the mark. Still we live in hope!!
But no big boy around but Andy did have a nice Porbegal as a by catch!

The Dubs were back but the weather was not kind. We did get out every day but only in the estuary. Still we had some nice catches with Huss, Gurnard, Tope and Rays to the boat and while we had a few mackerel every day we had a great catch of them today and the lads had plenty mackerel to bring home.

The weather has dumped on us for the last couple of days and we were confined to the Estuary. And with big tides the fishing was tricky. We had some nice fish but long quite times as well. Let’s hope the summer is not over yet!

Conditions are a bit more challenging than the last few weeks but a Tope session produced fish for all the crew. Then as conditions improved as the tide turned we pushed out onto the reefs for a few nice drifts with plenty Pollack. And a bonus John Dory for Ed.

A nice start to a new trip by regular visitors to us here in Carrigaholt. Tope seem to be one of the species that are doing well this summer.

Still getting some lovely weather here and the fishing is just fine. Some nice Tope and Rays in the estuary and Blue Sharks at sea. Plenty of white fish off the bottom as well. Mackerel are showing up a bit better and over the last couple of days some shoals of Pilchards!.
