📍Cliffs of Moher, County Clare
We really do love an unusual perspective of the Cliffs of Moher and this is definitely one of the best we've seen. It gives such a great angle on this incredibly popular location

For those of you who'd prefer not to get this close to the edge, the main viewing area beside the visitor centre certainly offers wonderful scenery with 0% chance of danger. For anyone else who'd prefer to get a little closer to the cliff, there's plenty of opportunities along the lengthy cliff-side walk which runs for 14km all the way from Doolin to Hag's Head. Having said that, we would very much encourage you to keep a safe distance from the cliff face as erratic gusts of wind are an all too regular occurrence in the area

According to legend, Lough Derg got its name from the bloody eye socket of King Eochy Mac Luchta. Already having lost one eye in battle he gave the other at the request of the famous travelling bard Athirne! The King plucked the eye from his socket and went to the lake to wash the wound. The blood turned the lake red. The King pronounced that the lake be called Loch Dergdheirc, meaning ‘the lake of the bloody eye’

One of the stops on our tours - Doolin.

Doolin is a village seeped in rich Irish culture. Surrounded by the incredible landscape of the Burren and facing the Atlantic Ocean, we use this beautiful Irish village as a pit stop before heading to the breath-taking Cliffs of Moher.

Asides from being a true town of the Wild Atlantic Way, Doolin is also internationally renowned for Irish Traditional music! The pubs come alive at night - yet the village itself remains a place of refreshing tranquility and solitude. A must see!

Villages of the Burren: Kinvara

As far as villages in the west of Ireland go, it doesn't get much prettier than the picture postcard village of Kinvara.

Located on the waterfront and next to the historic Dunguaire castle, it's a popular spot with visitors and locals alike.

Kinvara is a market village and also has a pier which would have been used for importing goods. These days there is a weekly farmers market on every Friday, which attracts food producers, craftspeople and artists.

The village has strong eco credentials and the tidy town group is a member of the national pollinator plan, with bee friendly flowers in every corner of the village.

Aisling Kelly Hunter from Sligo Oyster Experience and WB Yeats Cafe in County Sligo shares travel insights. 💚

🦪 A place I love to visit is Carlingford in County Louth. When I think of Carlingford I think of all the colours, the beautiful stone buildings and the enjoyment of just walking around the little town. It is such a picturesque place with lovely cafes, boutiques and some good pubs too of course! I love to wander around the little streets & meet the local craftspeople before heading to the tearooms to relax and take it all in. Myself and my husband Glenn always like to mix business with pleasure so we would be sure to stop by and visit Cian from Carlingford oysters, have a chat and taste some delicious oysters. 🦪

🌺 Another fab holiday is visiting my sister who now lives in Killarney. While there we always visit the gorgeous Killarney National Park, Muckross Farms and the stunning Ross Castle. On route we always try and stop off at a few places while on our way to make the most of our journey and a place I always love to visit is my friend Caitriona at Moher Cottage in Clare, have a coffee & some of her delicious fudge, take a breathe, enjoy the views and a catch up. Adare village is also another place we like to make a quick stop on our way, it’s just so pretty with its colourful buildings and thatched cottages and it has fabulous boutiques! Just bring your credit card :) 🌺

Because of the business I am in on the way home another friend I love to visit is Norma Kelly at Praline pastry shop in Mitchelstown, where she shows me the latest handmade chocolate creation she has made which are always amazing! 💝

There is nothing like a break away to refresh your mind and get your ideas to flow! 💦

The unexpected and unacceptable decision by Aer Lingus to lay off 129 staff at Shannon Airport and none in Dublin underlines their inherent bias against as an international airport.
Dublin Airport under normal operations, is too big, too unwieldly, too busy, and too far from the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland's historic premier tourist destination and a major player in our industrial zone also.
Dublin airport's monopoly neither serves nor suits the bulk of travellers into, or out of Ireland.
Surely now is the time to ensure that Shannon airport is fully supported, improved, invested in, and not downgraded, so that it properly serves the entire west of Ireland, from Donegal to Kerry, while being readied as a fail-safe, back-up, for the inevitable failure of Dublin airport as it becomes the unruly, unmanageable, 'problem child'.
What do you think?
