West Clare Challenge Cancelled
Due to the continued worsening of this weekend's weather forecast, we have taken the difficult decision to cancel this weekend's West Clare Challenge.
The Met Eireann Yellow Weather Warning for strong winds in the area during the hours of the event remains in place, In addition to Met Eireann, we consulted several other weather platforms and they all confirm the weekend's outlook.
Based on the advice of our safety team, we have concluded that it would be unsafe for us to attempt to deliver an event of this scale in the forecasted conditions, as we would be unable to guarantee the safety of our participants, spectators, volunteers, contractors and event staff across both routes and that is not a risk we are prepared to take.
Many of these risks are further exacerbated by the heavy rain forecast throughout the day.
We are determined to reschedule the event, and we will work with our partners to try and identify an alternative date as quickly as we can.
If the rescheduled date does not suit we will gladly issue a refund.
We sincerely apologise for this inconvenience and hope to see you very soon.

Yours in Sport
