Delighted to win the 35th annual Great Island Bird Race in Cork today. We won with 95 species. A total of 101 species were seen on the day. Big thanks to Alan Farrell, Jezz Simms and Sean Roynane for being awesome teammates 😃💪

A North American Northern Parula and from the far east a Siberian Chiffchaff sharing the same valley at the end of the Beara Peninsula yesterday. Autumn in Ireland can be very exciting, bringing us birds from all directions!

A Juvenile Turtle Dove was a nice new addition to the patch list today. Lots of common migrants made the walk through very enjoyable. An adult Semipalmated Sandpiper roosting with the wader flock was a nice surprise. Happy days!

Delighted to run in to this Melodious Warbler on my little patch this morning. I was watching the Southeasterlies coming through and thought it would be a good morning for one!

One of 2 Semipalmated Sandpipers at Clonakilty this evening. This one an adult showing the palmations between the toes. Also present were 1-2 Little Stints, a Spotted Redshank and a minimum of 5 Ruff. A nice haul for an after work spin around.
