Let’s clarify something about a Fantasy/Romantasy reading retreat.

No, I am not planning to make you discuss symbolism at 9 a.m.

I am planning a weekend where you can spend an unreasonable amount of time reading, talk about fictional kingdoms and morally questionable characters with people who understand, wander into town when you feel like it, and have absolutely nowhere you need to rush off to.

There will be things to do together.

There will also be plenty of time when no one cares if you disappear with your book.

And now that I’ve chosen the setting for our May retreat, I’m getting to work on the details that will make the weekend feel very Next Passage.

Going to Scotland is apparently not enough. I also need to curate the correct emotional-support re-reading list for the occasion.

The books need to match the weather, architecture, history, and general emotional tone of the destination. Obviously.
