New Year in Florida ๐ŸŒ… Sea swims, sunset swims, town wanderings, brewery visits, and a lovely New Year party. So good catching up with friends and family, and especially meaningful as we look ahead to our families coming together when Hamish & Hayley get married. Special times getting to know Bev & Steve Cornish better ๐Ÿค

Two days in Buenos Aires ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ท โ€” our final port of call after our 5 week cruise

Day 1: Hop-on hop-off through the cityโ€™s icons โ€” cruising past Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, Teatro Colรณn, and the grand avenues of Recoleta. A stop in La Boca, where Caminitoโ€™s colourful streets, tango beats and football passion bring the city to life ๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŽจ
Then to Recoleta Cemetery, resting place of Eva Perรณn โ€” Argentinaโ€™s most iconic First Lady, loved by the people and forever part of the nationโ€™s story. Nearby, a proud Irish connection at the tomb of Father Anthony Fahy, the Irish-born priest who became a champion of Irish immigrants in Argentina in the 1800s ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช

Day 2: Out to the countryside for true Argentine tradition โ€” a ranch visit with gauchos on horseback, incredible folk dancing, and finishing with an unforgettable Argentinian asado ๐Ÿฅฉ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Buenos Aires โ€” history, colour, culture and connection.

Wishing all our family friends and followers a very Happy Christmas.
We are spending the festive season with our son in Georgia USA. It does feel strange having the sun at Christmas ๐Ÿ˜„

Pic from a formal night on the ship - sunny Georgia pics coming soon!

A Day in the Falkland Islands
Arriving in Port Stanley by cruise ship, we took a private car out to Fitzroy to visit the Welsh Memorial, honouring those who lost their lives aboard Sir Galahad in 1982 during the Falklands Conflict โ€” a quiet, moving reminder of the islandsโ€™ recent history.

Next stop: Gypsy Cove, where Magellanic penguins waddle in and out of the water ๐Ÿง

Back in Port Stanley for a wander โ€” colourful cottages, windswept streets, and somehow we blended in so well we were mistaken for locals at the pubโ€ฆ clearly the Falklands suits us ๐Ÿป

A few Falklands facts:
โ€ข Over 740 islands, but fewer than 4,000 residents
โ€ข British Overseas Territory since 1833
โ€ข Wildlife outnumbers people by a lot
โ€ข No McDonaldโ€™s โ€” but plenty of character

A remote, resilient place where history, nature, and warm island life meet.

From Ushuaia to the end of the world ๐ŸŒโœจ

An adventure through Tierra del Fuego National Park:
๐Ÿš— Uber from Ushuaia through the park to the end of the Pan-American Highway โ€“ $18
๐Ÿš‚ Dropped near the trainโ€ฆ no trains for 2+ hours
๐Ÿš— Uber to Ensenada โ€“ $5 (worth it for those views ๐Ÿ˜)
๐Ÿฅพ 2.5 km uphill walk through the woods to the End of the World Train station
๐ŸฆŠ Spotted a Culpeo (Andean fox) along the way
๐Ÿ„ Sighted the bright orange Darwinโ€™s fungus growing on the trees
โŒ No train. No shuttle bus . No phone signal.
๐Ÿš• Saved by a passing taxi back to Ushuaia โ€“ $20

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Park entry: 30,000 ARS ($20)
๐Ÿ’ธ Total for 2 people for a mornings fun ~$83

Wildlife, weird fungi, missing trains, and unreal landscapes โ€” chaotic, scenic, and completely unforgettable. Sometimes the journey is the adventure.
