End of an era!

Today we closed the door on Burkedale House for the final time.

After 23 years we have passed the baton to the new owners and we wish them every happiness in their new abode.

We haven’t moved far - just next door to our 100 year old cottage which many of our followers will have stayed in when we ran it as an Airbnb.

Lots planned for the future, firstly completing some building work at the cottage and then onto some exciting travel adventures.

A big thank you to Deirdre our fabulous agent who sold the house and Avril for getting all the legal side completed.

In case you missed it earlier here’s the link to our interview with Pat Flynn on Atlantic Tales this evening.

3. March - Love baking these Easter treats
4. April - A sad month when we unexpectedly lost our beloved Bali dog.
5. May - A trip in our camper to the Isle of Man and then onwards to our daughters in Lancashire to dog sit.
6. June - We dusted off our bikes for a few gentle rides.
7. July - we enjoyed some lovely Nordic walks in the Burren including getting out with our Nordic walking group.
8. August - A fabulous 5 week trip in the camper from Corofin to Copenhagen and beyond.
9. September- Glorious swims in the Norwegian fjords.
10. October - Camino de Santiago - the Portuguese route with a fabulous group.
11. November - A new hip to get me ready for our next adventures.
12. December- Ending the year as we started with all the family together but this time there was the new addition of our grandson Conor. Tony’s dad joined us also bringing 4 generations together.

One week post op.

Firstly thanks to all the team at for all their care in getting me mended😀

Thank you to everyone who has visited, telephoned and sent gifts and cards. Special thanks to Tony Burke who travelled to Croom daily to see me and bought me home safely on Monday and has been amazing at being my chef, nurse and general helper- not things that come easy to him. All whilst working as an IT consultant- thank goodness for home working.

I’m making good progress with walking on my crutches around the house. The snow has meant I can’t go out just yet.

Onwards and upwards one step at a time😀💪
