A little glimpse at our very own “wall of fame” here at Atlantic Whale and Wildlife Tours! 🌊📸

These snapshots aren’t just beautiful photos; they represent the incredible biodiversity that thrives right here off the coast of West Cork. Our waters are a rich feeding ground, making it one of the best places in Europe to spot diverse marine life in their natural habitat.

Here is a quick guide to some of the amazing species you can spot when you head out on the water with us:
Short-Beaked Common Dolphins: Easily recognised by the distinct yellowish hourglass pattern on their sides. They are highly social, acrobatic, and love to bow-ride right alongside our boat!
Humpback & Minke Whales: See that iconic tail fluke? That’s a signature dive from a magnificent whale! Our coast provides vital feeding grounds for these gentle giants, particularly when the sprat and herring are abundant.
Dynamic Seabirds: It’s not just about what’s beneath the surface. Notice the flock diving in the background? Active seabirds are our best natural indicators that a “bait ball” (and larger predators!) are nearby.

Every trip out from Courtmacsherry is a live, unpredictable nature documentary. 🎬 We can’t guarantee what will show up, but that’s the magic of the wild!

Starting near Wood Point House, this unique trail takes you along the old railway track right into the heart of the village—perfect for a quick coffee stop! ☕

From there, the path winds through a magical woodland bursting with wild garlic and bluebells, before suddenly opening up onto a breathtaking headland with sweeping sea views. 🌊✨

It’s the perfect coastal stroll to enjoy before or after joining us on the water to spot some wildlife. 🐋
