What a moment our passengers on board were treated to yesterday!😍 A pod of minke whales and dolphins feasted on a shoal of sprat right before the boat, putting on an entertaining performance of lunge-feeding🐬

Minke whales are usually lone creatures and will only group together when the grub is that good! The sprat here along the Di**le Coast is plentiful, hence the frequent sightings of minkes and dolphins.

Watch as the minkes lunge out of the water, accelerating towards the school of sprat, mouths open engulfing huge volumes of water and fish.

Minke whales pleated throats expand massively to take in water and prey. Once they close their mouths, they push the water back out through their baleen plates, trapping the small fish inside to swallow.
