Following Sunday’s very successful fundraiser for the Irish Kidney Association, I can announce the final figure raised is €5000.

We are extremely overwhelmed by the support received and are grateful for all the support from the people who joined us on the trips to others who generously donated. You all made a difference. Thank you all.

It was a very nice tribute to my Grandfather Senan Blunnie.

A presentation will be made to the Irish Kidney Association next week.

Thank you once again to everyone who contributed.

Wow what a day it’s been ! Huge thank you to all the people who came out with us today and to all who have supported this charity event from afar, we are absolutely humbled by your kindness. Today was for me, about honouring my Grandfather Senan Blunnie by supporting the Irish Kidney Association who supported Granda over 13 years of travelling to Limerick for dialysis 3 times every week, he did this without complaint, giving us his family precious extra years, his strength and determination has thought us all something about the value of life.Unfortunately in December 2025 he was no longer able to continue. What makes today extra poignant is it also marks Granda Senan and Nana Marys 57th wedding anniversary. I hope the funds raised will help other patients and families in some small way. Thank you Irish Kidney Association for everything over the years.

The final figure for today will be announced later this week when all funds / pledges are received, and a presentation will be made to the Irish Kidney Association in memory of my Granda Senan Blunnie.
