💚 It's been a long time since we posted here but the love of travelling around Ireland has never gone away. We've been busy searching every corner of the island for the best travel experiences and we have a lot planned for the very near future. For now though, enjoy the gorgeous scenery of Killary Harbour on a sunny day.

When the roads around Connemara stretch out for miles ahead and the views look like this, there's simply nowhere we'd rather be and there's definitely no job we'd rather be doing.

Marking the natural boundary between the counties of Mayo and Galway, Killary provides some of the most impressive scenery along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way. Coming from the Galway side, you'll have travelled through the heart of Connemara, a Gaeltacht region where Irish language is at the forefront of everyday life. Arriving at the fantastic Killary Sheep Farm, you'll be met with views like this across the fjord to Mweelrea in Mayo, the highest mountain in the province of Connacht

☘️ Happy St. Patrick's Day - Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh ☘️

It's probably a little silly and there's a million other things in the world to be thinking about but this is a moment that we've been looking forward to for what seems like an eternity. Every year we posted a photo of a packed Temple Bar as people from all over the world came to Dublin to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It was a bit of fun, some people said they'd love to be in the middle of it all, others less so!!

Then 2020 came along and it was less than ideal but we consoled ourselves in the 'knowledge' that it was a temporary hiatus until the status quo was restored and next year would be so much better. Then 2021 rolled around and we'd been well burned by then so didn't dare suggest that anything would be alright the following year

And for the first time in three years, we're finally back to this. It will most likely get busier as the day goes on but we have better things to be doing than watching the live feed on Earth Cam and waiting for someone to do something funny so here's to being Irish and whatever that means to you wherever you may be in the world

📍Temple Bar, Dublin
This is something we do every year on Saint Patrick's Day. Last year it was a little bit different and we ended the post on a note of hope and oblivious expectation - "we have a feeling that next year's photo from Temple Bar is going to be the best and busiest yet"
What a woeful prediction that was!!
We're nothing if not eternal optimists/gluttons for punishment so, when we do this again in 12 months time, we have a feeling that the 2022 photo from Temple Bar is going to be the best and busiest yet

📍 Di**le, County Kerry
An incredible story that hopefully has a few more chapters still to be written.

It's the easiest thing in the world to be cynical. In fact, given everything that 2020 has thrown our way, a healthy dose of cynicism is entirely necessary. However, sometimes it's best to just be able to appreciate something that is overwhelmingly positive and good in the world. Fungie, the famous dolphin of Di**le, is the perfect example of that.

In 1983, a wild dolphin arrived into Di**le Harbour and he's remained there ever since. For over 30 years, Fungie has been creating some of the most vivid memories for young and old. Children in the 90s who fell in love with Fungie have grown up, had a family of their own and brought their children to Di**le to visit Fungie and create new childhood memories that will last a lifetime.

As many of you will have heard, Fungie has been missing for the best part of a week now and locals are understandably fearing the worst given that he's never been gone this long before. Estimates put Fungie at around 45 years of age which is quite old for a wild, male dolphin. Having not been seen in so long, the obvious worry is that this incredible dolphin has passed away after a truly wonderful life which brought joy to so many people. Searches are continuing to be carried out and, so far, nothing has been found. That also brings up the more positive possibility that Fungie has decided to either (a) hide for a while given that there has been a lot more marine life spotted in the area in recent weeks or (b) he has decided to leave the harbour and join some friends further out in Di**le Bay or beyond. Until we're told otherwise, we're choosing to believe the latter theory. Hopefully we might be able to see Fungie in Di**le once again but, if not, he's done something incredible by managing to turn even the most cynical visitor into an entirely positive believer.

📍Cliffs of Moher, County Clare
Your Favourite County in Ireland - 6th Place

Over on our Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/yourwayireland/ - we've spent the past few weeks taking votes on Ireland's best county to visit and next up in the countdown is County Clare in 6th spot

Being completely honest, we probably did expect Clare to be a little bit higher in the poll but it's incredibly difficult to split some of these west coast counties so there's certainly no shame in 6th place. While we often speak about the lesser known highlights of Clare, plenty of you mentioned the Cliffs of Moher when telling us about your favourite county so it seems only right to include these incredible cliffs as the featured image for Clare

As we've mentioned before, to experience the cliffs, the main visitor centre entrance is just one of many views. If you're up for the walk, start at Doolin or Hag's Head and you'll have parts of the cliffs all to yourself - once you've reached the end, there's even a shuttle bus service to bring you back to the beginning of the route

Coming from Doolin in particular will give you fantastic views like this. Located just north of O'Brien's Tower and the highest point of the cliffs, this lookout at Pollboy allows you an incredible view of An BranĂĄn MĂłr sea stack and all the way down to Hag's Head at the southern boundary of the cliffs. There's around 14km worth of cliffs to discover so be sure to venture as far along the route as you'd like to ensure you have a different perspective on these incredible cliffs no matter which way you look

Over on our Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/yourwayireland/ - we've spent the past few weeks taking votes on Ireland's best county to visit and next up in the countdown is County Sligo in 7th place

This is the first county of the Wild Atlantic Way that we've mentioned - but it certainly won't be the last!! Tucked away a little bit between Mayo and Donegal, Sligo may not be as well known as it's larger west coast neighbours but the beauty of Sligo often takes visitors by surprise as they make their way between other destinations
Ireland's most photogenic mountain dominates the scenery of County Sligo and provides some of the best hiking opportunities on the entire island. Part of the larger Dartry Mountain range, Ben Bulben (also spelled Benbulben or Benbulbin) is simply one part of an area of Ireland that is nothing short of spectacular when it comes to scenery and outdoor activities. That's perfectly exemplified here by Benwiskin Mountain which acts as an incredible gateway to the beautiful Gleniff Horseshoe Drive which is just around the corner

Over on our Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/yourwayireland/ - we've spent the past few weeks taking votes on Ireland's best county to visit and next up in the countdown is County Antrim in 8th place

With world famous sights, numerous hidden gems and the always fascinating city of Belfast, Antrim is an incredible area of Ireland. We've often spoken about the highlights of the Causeway Coastal Route along the beautiful north coast. The Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge and Dunluce Castle are the three 'must see' sights that make up the main part of the route but there are also countless options to get off the beaten path and explore the gorgeous coastline

Portbraddan Harbour is a great example of that. Lying halfway between the Giant's Causeway and Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge, Portbraddan is a tiny hamlet at the end of White Park Bay and it makes for a great side trip off the main Causeway Coast route

Over on our Instagram page - https://www.instagram.com/yourwayireland/ - we've spent the past few weeks taking votes on Ireland's best county to visit and next up in the countdown is County Wicklow in 9th place

Just south of Dublin but once you cross the mountains, Wicklow feels like a world away from the city nearby. With history and scenery in equal measure, Wicklow is a fantastic county to visit. Just 30 mins out of Dublin and you're into the mountains and making your way to the monastic site at Glendalough or embarking on an incredible hike through some of Ireland's best scenery

There's no better place to show that than Lough Ouler, the entirely natural heart shaped lake in the Wicklow Mountains. Located below the mountain peak of Tonelagee, this glaciated corrie lake makes for a fantastic view as you embark on a hike around this beautiful part of the country
