An intimate, sold-out night with Gavin James at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in Dublin 🎶

You could feel it from the start… the nerves, the honesty, the comeback. After months away, Gav stepped back on stage and gave everything ❤️

From Coming Home to Always, Glow to Tired, and of course Afterlife… every song hit that bit deeper in a stripped-back acoustic setting.

There was something really special about the vulnerability throughout — quiet moments, a few laughs, and a crowd completely locked in.

And that finale… a stunning cover of City of Stars from La La Land ✨ just magic.

Beautiful support from Rachel Grace to start the night 👏

A gig that felt more like a moment than a show.

Made the most of the sunshine ☀️ with our annual pass at and finally checked out the newly opened Rainforest House 🌿

Stepping inside feels like a proper tropical escape 🌴
We spotted:
• Venezuelan red howler monkeys 🐒
• Two-toed sloths 🦥
• Bolivian squirrel monkeys 🐒
• White-faced saki monkeys

The whole space is really immersive — warm, lush, and designed to reflect real rainforest climates 🌿

We also visited the meerkats, where 5 new arrivals from Fota Wildlife Park have moved into their redesigned habitat 🏜️
It now mirrors their natural desert & savannah environment, complete with sandy burrows.

Other highlights:
🦖 Zoorassic World — Stan the T-Rex, crocodiles 🐊 & reptiles
🐘 Elephants in the Kaziranga Forest Trail enjoying the sunshine
🏔️ Himalayan Hills — red pandas, snow leopards & dholes
🦧 Orangutans & 🦁 lions on the way out

Such a relaxing way to spend a sunny afternoon ☀️🌿

And then came the encore finale ❤️🎤✨

There was only ever one way Rick Astley was going to close the night at 3Arena Dublin — “Never Gonna Give You Up”.

The moment he came back out, the crowd reaction said it all.
The whole arena instantly jumped to their feet, singing every word back to him, phones lighting up the room, smiles absolutely everywhere.

After such an incredible show filled with classic hits, brilliant humour, funny backstories, Gabrielle warming up the crowd beautifully, surprise covers, and that unforgettable Rick-on-drums 🥁 moment, this felt like the perfect final chapter to the night.

A legendary song, a legendary performer, and honestly the perfect way to finish the concert ✨🎶❤️

One of those live music moments you know you’ll never forget.

A genuinely beautiful moment from the night at 3Arena Dublin 🎤✨

Hearing Rick Astley perform “Oh, Pretty Woman” by Roy Orbison was pure magic.
Such a timeless song, and Rick gave it so much warmth, charm, and fun that the whole arena was completely swept up in it ❤️

One of those perfect live moments where everyone around you is smiling, singing along, and just fully in the moment.

Classic song, classic voice, unforgettable atmosphere ✨🎶

One of the best surprise moments of the night at Rick Astley’s Reflection Tour 🎤✨

“WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” — the RAYE cover — with Rick jumping on the drums 🥁🔥

The whole 3Arena Dublin crowd went wild for this. Such a funny, unexpected, and genuinely brilliant part of the set.
His humour, timing, and just the sheer joy of the performance made this moment unforgettable 😂❤️

Definitely one of those live music moments you had to be there for.

What a night at 3Arena Dublin for Rick Astley’s Reflection Tour with Gabrielle setting the tone perfectly as the support act 💫🎤

From the second Rick walked on stage, the crowd reaction was electric. The roar around the arena said it all — Dublin was ready, and he had everyone in the palm of his hand from that very first moment.

The setlist was such a perfect mix of classics, surprises, and deeper cuts. Together Forever, Cry for Help, She Wants to Dance With Me, Hold Me in Your Arms, and Whenever You Need Somebody all sounded incredible live.

But what really made the night special was his banter, sense of humour, and the stories behind the songs. The little anecdotes, funny one-liners, and backstories had the whole arena laughing and hanging onto every word 😂❤️

And then one of the best moments of the night… Rick jumping on the drums for the RAYE cover 🥁🔥
Such a fun unexpected twist and the crowd absolutely loved it.

The finale was perfection — Never Gonna Give You Up had the whole 3Arena on their feet singing every single word. Honestly the perfect way to end such a brilliant concert 🎶✨

Rick truly didn’t disappoint one bit.

Day 3 in the Netherlands = the dreamiest one yet 🇳🇱💐

An early start led us across Amsterdam by tram, ferry, and tour coach before setting off on a peaceful windmill cruise through Warmond and the Kagerplassen 🚤🌊
Working windmills, mirror-like water, and Dutch countryside rolling past felt like stepping into a painting.

Then came the magic of Keukenhof 🌷✨
Millions of tulips, flower tunnels, white bridges, indoor pavilions bursting with colour, and the windmill viewpoint overlooking endless striped fields. Every corner somehow looked even better than the last.

The highlight had to be the Whisper Boat behind the windmill, gliding silently through the tulip fields for 45 minutes with nothing but rows of colour stretching into the distance 🌷🚤💜

We stayed until late afternoon, soaked in every last bloom, then headed back to Amsterdam for dinner, tram rides, packing, and one final relaxed evening before home.

Honestly one of those travel days you know you’ll replay in your head for years ✨🇳🇱

🇳🇱✨ Day 2 in the Netherlands — from storybook villages to ice-cold cocktails

A full countryside loop through Marken, Edam, Volendam & Zaanse Schans 🌬️🧀

We started in Marken — wooden houses, quiet lanes, and that “lost in time” feeling you don’t forget.

Before heading into the villages, we stopped at the Henri Willig family farm (Jacobs Hoeve) for cheese tasting and a bit of factory history 🧀✨

Then onto Edam, cobbled streets, canals, and cheese in hand like it was meant to be 🍃🧀

Volendam brought the energy — harbour views, fresh fish, colourful houses, and that classic Dutch seaside vibe 🌊

And Zaanse Schans — windmills, clogs, and postcard scenes everywhere you turn 🌬️📸

Cheese tasting, culture stops, and far too many “one more photo” moments later…

We ended the day at Xtracold Icebar — because nothing says balance like finishing a countryside day inside a freezer with cocktails 🧊🍸

Amsterdam really doesn’t do boring days.

Day 1 in Amsterdam 🇳🇱✨

From an early start through airport queues at Dublin Airport to a slightly turbulent but smooth landing into Amsterdam Airport Schiphol — the adventure began instantly.

Dropped bags at Apple Inn Hotel and headed straight into the city magic.

☕ Museum Quarter moments around Museumplein
🎨 Iconic views at Rijksmuseum + Van Gogh Museum
🌿 Slow wander through Vondelpark
🏙️ Canal strolls through De Negen Straatjes and the canal belt
👑 Royal stop at Royal Palace Amsterdam + Dam Square

Shopping pit stop at Uniqlo, then a cosy reset at O’Reilly’s Irish Pub while the rain rolled in ☘️

And finally… the highlight 🚢✨
A golden blue-hour cruise with Lovers Canal Cruises through glowing bridges and reflections.

Perfect first day. Amsterdam, you delivered.

🔥🎶 That Ring of Fire encore from The Ballad of Johnny & June was the perfect ending to an unforgettable night at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin.

Finally seeing Christina Bianco live made it even more special for my sister and me 🤍🎭

The cast brought so much energy, and hearing that iconic song live had the whole theatre buzzing. Still not over this moment ✨

Soaking up the festive spirit within the historic grounds of Dublin Castle —starting with the beautiful Neapolitan Crib set inside the Chapel Royal, a quiet moment of artistry and tradition. Then wandering through the State Apartments, each room glowing with its own sparkling Christmas tree, all individually decorated and filled with seasonal charm. A perfect blend of heritage and holiday magic. ✨🎄
