Congratulations to Cormac Meehan on his Planned Retirement!

Former President of the ITAA, Cormac Meehan has announced that he will retire at the end of August 2025. His retirement will see the closure of both Meehan Travel Worldchoice and Sean Meehan Chartered Valuation Surveyors after 75 years of successful trading and service to the public in the northwest.

Cormac has been at the helm of these businesses since January 1987 following the death of his father, Sean Meehan, who started both businesses in 1950.

Over the years the name of the Meehan businesses has been a hallmark of personal and professional service. Making the announcement, Cormac paid tribute to his front line team of Kathleen McDaid, Fiona Feely and Caroline McNamara who with their predecessors have been vital to the success of the businesses over the years.

As well as holding the office of the Presidency of the Irish Travel Agents Association, Cormac was President of the Irish Auctioneers and Valuers Institute. He has also been active in many local and national voluntary groups.

Commenting on his retirement, Cormac made particular mention of the customers who supported both businesses over the decades. “We have always enjoyed a very special relationship with our customers, our suppliers and, indeed, our statutory regulators such as the Irish Aviation Authority and the Property Services Regulatory Authority.

“Travel bookings with existing customers will continue without interruption and future bookings will be referred to our travel agency colleagues, Mullaney Travel Worldchoice in Sligo and Atlantic Travel Worldchoice in Letterkenny,” said Cormac.

Finally Cormac thanked his wife Maureen for her support over the years. “She is a powerhouse of support and has enjoyed sharing this adventure with me. We are both looking forward to the next chapter of our lives.”

Congratulations to Cormac Meehan on his retirement and wishing him another lifetime of wonderful memories as he embarks on the next chapter of his life!

Safe travels, from everyone at ITTN.
