Host Family Accommodation for students who wish
to stay with a local Irish family for a cultural experience in Ireland. Irish
families have a tradition of hospitality and warmth which is renowned all over
the world and has been a major factor in attracting thousands of students to study
English on the Emerald Isle. Host Families are able to give students the opportunity to study English in a
homel

y setting and find out more about Irish culture. The families are there to
help improve the students’ English at home as well as in class, and will
help the students experience firsthand the cultural differences between their
home family environment and their Irish family environment. Host families involve
their students in normal family life, helping them to adapt to a new lifestyle
and making their stay enjoyable and beneficial. The Role of a Host Family

The role of a host family is to offer students accommodation with full board
throughout their stay. The Host Family will collect the student from the pre-arranged
meeting point with a warm welcome. Over the first few days the family will help
the student settle in showing them around the local area and familiarize them
with local travel routes. As well as this the Host Family will provide:

Clean accommodation with a single bed per student and adequate furniture
together with access to communal areas of the house and allow daily access
to the bathroom. Sensitivity to the students’ needs in order to make them feel at
home as well as help them to improve their English and encourage conversation
with the students. The families will provide breakfast, packed lunch and dinner 7 days per
week on a balanced and nutritious diet. Show the students the bus/walking route to and from the house to the school
and city centre. Student Welfare

Student welfare is our main concern and we choose our families very carefully
to ensure maximum comfort. The guidelines that we have put in place clearly
set out our standards and policies concerning home stays. All families must
