Today marks exactly one year until the Rugby World Cup kicks off in Australia, and if you’ve been toying with the idea of making the trip, now is the time to start planning.
The tournament runs from October 1st to November 13th, 2027, and Andy Farrell’s men have an exciting Pool D itinerary.
Portugal in Sydney on Monday, October 4th, Six Nations rivals Scotland at Perth Stadium on Sunday, October 10th, and Uruguay at the Docklands Stadium in Melbourne on Sunday, October 17th.
It’s a chance to see Australia’s cities, regions and famous landmarks with the green army behind you.
It’s difficult to predict, however should Ireland win their pool they will face one of the best third-placed finishers in the round of 16 in Melbourne on October 24th, and if South Africa, France, and New Zealand also top their pools, Ireland might not meet them until the final as they’ll then be on the other side of the draw.
With the possibility of meeting Argentina in the quarter-finals and England or Australia in the semis, could this be the year Ireland breaks the quarter-final barrier and heads for the semi final at Stadium Australia?
Be there.
