This is a day tour of the city and the surrounding countryside of Dublin including the Dublin hills and Coastline. In 1916 the Irish Republic or Poblacht na hEireann was proclaimed on the steps of the GPO when revolutionary volunteer soldiers took over the city of Dublin on Easter Monday in the middle of the First World War. In response British Government Forces shelled large parts of the city to

destruction and there was viscous hand-to-hand street fighting. Inevitably the rebels were defeated and there leaders executed but Irish independence was achieved finally in due to their sacrifice in 1922. This tour itself is designed to give you a great insight into the 1916 Rebellion, the history behind it, its leaders, the causes of this rebellion, what happened during it and the aftermath.
