Travel back in time with a visit to Dalkey Island! Supervised Ferry trips to Dalkey Island from Coliemore Harbour. Ken is a native of Dalkey, coming from a strong boating background. His knowledge of the sea and the waterways of Dalkey sound are second nature to him. Ken is an oarsman in the east-coast rowing community for the past 45 years. Ken's boat "Lilly Rose" was named after his grandaughter

who, sadly, died shortly after being born. The boat was commissioned by him as a ferry passenger boat. The boat suits his operation perfectly as it is small enough to be able to access the tight inlet of Dalkey Island. The Lilly Rose has passed the stringent tests set out by the Department of Marine and is licensed to carry five people. Life jackets are provided for all age groups. Infant to adult. Get into the story at Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre before or afterwards. Why not get away from it all and take the sea air with a short trip to Dalkey Island? Visit the ancient 11th century church and marvel at the construction of the Martello Towers. The origins of Dalkey Island go back 6,500 years. Walk the paths where the Vikings held a slave camp in the early 900s. Ken the Ferryman will give you an overview of the stories associated with the island. Skip down to Coliemore Harbour and avail of the fully licensed and insured service. You will have a magical experience! Bring a picnic and get away from it all, only five minutes from the mainland. Before or after, you can drop in to Dalkey Castle & Heritage Centre where you will get the entire story of the island from earliest times. Good afternoon all, it's that time of year again but my ferry will not be operating till saturday the 9th of April weather permitting of course. I look forward to seeing all my lovely customers this year!

Hello all,

As you know my season doesnt officially end till october 1st but I will be ending it a few days shorter than expected. It was a great season doing the ferry I had a pleasure bringing you all over to island and i look forward to seeing you all next year! Thanks so much for everything.
