Michael’s innovative project on appendable drag reduction devices for road vehicles tackles the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 9, 12 & 13, offering a smarter, greener future for transport 🌱

Join us on Thursday 29 May for our Early Career Researcher Company Networking Event. Meet companies, funders and NGOs interested in talking about the “PhD Talent Pipeline: jobs that don’t exist yet”.

The agenda:

✅Breakfast and welcome by Prof Kate Robson-Brown, UCD VP for Research, Impact and Innovation.

✅Dr Claire O'Connell will then moderate a panel discussion on "The PhD Talent Pipeline: jobs that don't exist yet?" There will be speakers from Research Ireland, CeADAR, the Wheel, IDA , and our own Marie S Curie Postdoc fellow Shane O’Donnell.

What an inspiring day at yesterday's 2024-2025 UCD Advantage Awards Ceremony!🏆

We were delighted to celebrate the incredible achievements of our awardees who went above and beyond to develop their co-curricular skills, contribute to the community, and make the most of their UCD experience🙌

A huge thank you to all our speakers who made the event so special, including UCD Registrar Professor Colin Scott for his thoughtful opening remarks and our passionate student speakers Marcus Tidey and Hollie McDonnell for sharing their journeys.

Shout out to Niamh Byrne McKenna from UCD in the Community who shared insights into the rich benefits of volunteering and Ronan O’Rourke from UCD Student Recruitment who leads UCD's Student Ambassador Programme. Thanks also to Sophie Carey and Aradhna Mathur from the Careers Network team for highlighting the value of community engagement and co-curricular experiences recognised by the Advantage Award Programme.

The Career Ready Programme, launched in late 2024, is designed to support students in refining their career goals, through extended career coaching sessions and a personalised employability programme tailored to their college and current level of 'career readiness'.

For Tanissha, completing the programme has been a huge milestone, giving her a clearer vision of her future and the confidence to step into the next phase of her career. She encourages fellow students to take full advantage of every opportunity - whether it’s engaging with mentors, attending events, or applying for internships.

It's time for our final Future Skills session - Analytical thinking with ! 📊💡

Join us tomorrow for the final session of the 2024-2025 Future Skills programme! will lead an interactive workshop on analytical thinking, using data-driven decision-making to tackle student transport challenges.

What to expect:

✅ Problem-solving using real-world data
✅ Learn about key analytical frameworks
✅ Focus on team collaboration and developing presentation skills
