Fernhill Park Experience – Augmented Reality Workshop

Fernhill Park Experience is an interactive, educational, augmented reality (AR) game based on the new Fernhill Park and Gardens in Stepaside, Dublin. The augmented reality experience has been developed in collaboration with ’s Public Design Lab, and .ie.

The project has been funded by under the Discover Programme and led by Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, in a further partnership with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council.

This facilitated workshop will introduce a mobile phone-based application which uses augmented reality technology to display visualisations of the park and a map of Fernhill. The player will explore and learn about the topics of rewilding, reforestation and renewable energy, and can make real-time changes to the park based around these topics. The player will then choose a final scenario for Fernhill and will learn about the future impact of their decisions. The workshops promise to be fun for children and parents alike!

This tour is pre-book only and booking opens 14 September. The actvitiy is suitable for ages 10 and up.

We are delighted to announce that the Virtual Record Treasury - VRTour for has been selected as a FINALIST for Best AR or VR Implementation for the Digital Marketing Industry at the Awards! A big thank you to the panel of judges for selecting this exciting project as a finalist.

The Virtual Record Treasury of Ireland is the outcome of a five-year State-funded research programme.

No one alive today has ever stepped foot in the Record Treasury destroyed a century ago — but now you can re-enter it in Virtual Reality.

Noho created the digital model of the six-storey brick building from a series of plans, elevations, cross-sections and two photographs of the interior. Noho created a real-time 3D version of the model for use in VR and AR, which has been showcased in Oculus Rift and mobile applications over the last few years.
