There are 3 main reasons why we wear green on Saint Patrick's Day.
First, Saint Patrick used the shamrock (which is green) to explain the Holy Trinity, and it became a symbol of Ireland. Second, Ireland is called the "Emerald Isle" because of its lush green landscapes. But most importantly, legend has it that wearing green makes you invisible to mischievous leprechauns and saves you from getting pinched.
