🏠 Homelessness is not always visible.

📊 In July 2026, 5,659 children were living in emergency accommodation across Ireland.

Yet these figures do not tell the whole story. They do not include everyone experiencing homelessness, such as people sleeping rough or staying temporarily with friends or family.

💙 Behind every statistic is a person, a story and a life deserving of dignity.

At Secret Street Tours, we believe that understanding homelessness begins with listening to those who have experienced it. Every story shared is an opportunity to challenge assumptions, build empathy and see our city from a different perspective. 🤝

🚶 Walk with us. Listen to their stories. See Dublin differently.

🏙️ Introducing Our City: A Different Way to Discover Dublin! 💛

Calling all secondary schools! 📢

Secret Street Tours is delighted to launch Our City, our new educational walking tour programme, supported by Dublin City Council and Inner City Enterprise.

🎉 During the 2026–2027 academic year, we’re offering FREE tours to nine DEIS schools in Dublin’s inner city!

🚶‍♂️ What makes Our City different?

Led by guides with lived experience of homelessness, our tours combine Dublin’s history, personal stories and curriculum-aligned discussions to encourage empathy, critical thinking and a deeper understanding of social inequality.

🎓 Designed primarily for Transition Year students aged 16+, the programme explores themes across Geography, English, and Politics and Society. Teachers will also receive a resource pack with curriculum links and classroom activities.

Not a DEIS school? You’re welcome too! 🙌

Our programme is open to all secondary schools. Paid bookings help fund free tours for DEIS schools while supporting employment opportunities for our guides.
